🌟 Editor's Note
Montgomery County’s food scene keeps buzzing with new openings, returning favorites, and well-deserved recognition. This week brings a standout new sushi spot, a wine-centric restaurant debut, and local nods on the Washington Post’s “Best Restaurants” list. Whether you’re looking for your next date-night dinner, a casual bite, or a weekend food adventure, there’s plenty to explore.

🗓️ Good Eats for the Week

  1. Sushi lovers, mark your calendars, Ro Sushi Co opens its doors on October 16. Led by Chef Mainyi, who brings more than 15 years of experience in Japanese cuisine across the D.C. area, the restaurant promises refined rolls, fresh ingredients, and an elevated dining experience after months of anticipation.

  2. Wine fans have a new reason to celebrate, Sixty Vines officially opens today at 231 Rio Boulevard in Gaithersburg, marking its first Maryland location. The restaurant offers 60 wines on tap from around the world, alongside wood-grilled steaks, hand-crafted pizzas, and a relaxed, modern wine-country vibe perfect for fall evenings.

  3. Outgoing Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema wrapped up his tenure with a new list of the 40 Best Restaurants in the D.C. area, and five Maryland eateries made the cut — including several right here in Montgomery County and Frederick. It’s another reminder that great dining in Maryland goes far beyond the city limits.

  4. After building a loyal following in Woodbridge, VA, and Columbia, MD, Dok Khao has brought its bold Thai flavors to Montgomery County. Executive Chef and co-founder Porntipa “Pat”, who leads the Pattana Restaurant Group (with nine Thai restaurants across the DMV), serves up street food-inspired dishes with a modern, flavorful twist.

  5. It may be a drive from MoCo, but Mario’s Original Pizza & Pasta in Baltimore just earned the title of “Best Pizza in Maryland” from Food Network. If you find yourself up that way, it’s worth stopping in for an old-school slice that’s been winning over locals for decades.

Till next time,
